The ASRL Committeee has released Newsletter #50 for July, 2014. All Members are encouraged to download and read the Newsletter to keep up with what's going on in the world of Surf Rowing. Your 2014-15 ASRL Committee Nominees

The ASRL Committee has received 4 x Nominations for 3 x availabe Vice President positions which will be determined at the upcoming ASRL AGM, to be held at Eloura SLSC, NSW, on Saturday, 19 July, 2014. The Nominees are: Stephen Blewett Mick Lang Geoff Matthews Nathan Perry The incumbent President (Bert Hunt), Treasurer (Don Alexander) and Secretary (Rod Costa) will return for the upcoming season.  Electronic Voting for the new committee will commence on Friday, 4 July, 2014.  Current ASRL Members who have provided a current and valid email address will receive a "voting token" via email when the vote opens. You are now reading this message on our new improved website. As previously advised we have been struggling with the old site for several months so the decision was taken to revamp and develop a completely new site.  Hopefully our members and visitors will find this website exciting and far more interactive. NOTICE OF 2014 ASRL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING DATE: Saturday 19th July 2014 TIME: 10:00 am VENUE: Elouera SLSC NSW In accordance with clause 28.1(a), the ASRL Committee hereby calls for nominations for Treasurer and 3 x Vice Presidents. Nominations must be made in writing, signed by 2 ASRL Members and accompanied by the nominee's written consent. SLSA Bulletin - 2013 Helmet Policy - Updated Implementation

Background: In August 2013 the SLSA Board made a decision to mandate the wearing of surf helmets in surf boat competition and in surf boat training effective 1 January 2014 (see SLSA Bulletin 02/13-14 issued 26/08/2013). Since the release of this decision, a number of operational impacts and considerations have been evaluated in consultation with the Australian Surf Rowers League (ASRL) and State/Territory centres to ensure an effective implementation of the SLSA Board decisions. SLSA reinforces that surf helmets will become mandatory in both training and competition. The following decisions relate to the implementation of these decisions.
