ASRL Open 2016 Update

ASRL Open: As we close on organising the Open some key decisions have now been made: Racing Divisions: We are excited to announce that at this year’s Open we have added two female divisions. This means that 8 divisions of racing will take home medals against the standard 6 of the past. Divisions are: Open Male Open Female “A” Reserve Male “A” Reserve Female U23 Male U23 Female U19 Male U19 Female The U19 Female is a complete new division Open Female will commence racing as the one division. After  4, 5 or 6 rounds the top 24 point score crews will split into the Open Female division while the next 24 crews will shift into the new “A” Reserve…

The ASRL Committee have now confirmed that we will put a brand new surfboat up for grabs as a prize that will be drawn at the ASRL Open. The boat must be and remain prominently branded "Team Navy" for a minimum of 3 years. ASRL Membership by State: 2016/17 Crew Membership In each of the States we have worked with the State based rowing body to set out the list of fee and how each State will work. It is very important that whoever from your club does the event entries understands the process. ASRL SURFBOAT SERIES STRENGTHENS WITH TEAM NAVY ONBOARD

NAVY will celebrate its ongoing relationship with surf lifesavers from across Australia with the official launch the 2015/16 Team Navy Australian Surf Rowers League (ASRL) season on the Surfers Paradise 5-6 December 2015. The first round of competition in the series marks the start of the eighth year of Navy's naming rights. More than 300 surf rowers from 60 crews across Australia will be competing in men's, women's, masters' and junior sections. Lieutenant Commander Don Hogarth, Manager Team Navy, said the partnership with ASRL was a mutually beneficial one. He said Team Navy's relationship with the ASRL allowed surf lifesaving clubs to compete all across Australia and also boosted Navy's profile, helping gain community support. 2015-16 Committee and 2015 ASRL Annual Report

The ASRL AGM was held on the Gold Coast on Saturday 18 July 2015 and the Committee positions for the forthcoming season have been decided: Congratulations to the following members who were successful for this coming season:President – Bert HuntSecretary – Alex HillVice Presidents – Tim McFlarlane, Don Cotterill, Grant WilkinsonThey will join The Treasurer, Don Alexander, and 3 Vice-Presidents, Nathan Perry, Mick Lang and Geoff Matthews, who continue in their current positions for a further 12 months.
